Welcome to Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and is recognised as such since at least the 15th century. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. The city has long been a centre of education, particularly in the fields of medicine, Scottish law, literature, philosophy, the sciences and engineering. The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is considered one of the best research institutions in the world. The city's historical and cultural attractions have made it the UK's second-most visited tourist destination. Visit Edinburgh

Airport information

Edinburgh has one of the UK’s fastest growing airports and new flights are always being added. At the EICC, we have the luxury of being located right in the heart of the city and within 10km (6 miles) of Edinburgh International Airport.

Transportation from the airport

The EICC offers a tool to book travel from the airport - please follow the link to book any of these options:

AIRLINK BUS SERVICE
The Airlink 100 operates a frequent bus service (every 10 minutes at peak times, 20 minutes after midnight) between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre, with designated stops en route. Journey time is 20 minutes with tickets costing £5.50 single and £8.00 return (prices correct at the time of publication).

Delegates are advised to disembark at Haymarket Railway Station and to follow signs for EICC on foot (5 minute walk).

TRAM SERVICE
The Edinburgh Airport Tram stop is adjacent the arrivals and departures terminal. A covered walkway connects the airport building to the tram plaza, and trains take visitors into the city centre within 30 minutes. Ticket cost range from £7.50 for an adult single; multiday tickets start at £12.00.
