The future of infrared efforts at DARPA
Whitney Mason, Deputy Director of the Strategic Technology Office at DARPA (United States)
Whitney Mason is deputy director of the Strategic Technology Office (STO). From November 2017 to May 2022, she served as a program manager in the agency’s Microsystems Technology Office (MTO). Her research interests include imaging sensors that provide multifunction capability. In particular, she is interested in novel device structures, optics, and electronics that enable new capabilities compared to current state of the art imaging systems. Mason is currently on detail from the Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center’s (CERDEC) Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where she had most recently been the director of the Science and Technology Division.
