SPIE Medical Imaging program

Make plans to be part of this important gathering of conferences, presentations, courses, and special events

A great program has been built

Each year this important community comes together to share and discuss current research, hear the latest breakthroughs, and connect with colleagues.

The 2024 program is now available and registration is open. We hope you will make plans to attend in February.

Putting focus on topical areas with application tracks
Application tracks list presentations on a topical area with broad-range interest so that participants can easily locate presentations in their area of interest. In the 2024 program, these topics include AI/ML and sustainability. Learn more

Conference topics include over 800 papers

  • Physics of Medical Imaging
  • Image Processing
  • Computer-Aided Diagnosis
  • Image-Guided Procedures, Robotic Interventions, and Modeling
  • Image Perception, Observer Performance, and Technology Assessment
  • Clinical and Biomedical Imaging
  • Imaging Informatics for Healthcare, Research, and Applications
  • Ultrasonic Imaging and Tomography
  • Digital and Computational Pathology

Acknowledging great research

We welcome your participation. Help to recognize the many important advances in the field of medical imaging – these awards are directed toward student authors or early-career scientists; some awards offer cash prizes.

See the application process for 2024 and make plans to participate. The applications close 1 December.

See who is presenting

Don't miss the outstanding slate of speakers at this year's event. There will be a featured plenary along with nine keynotes - hear from these leaders highlighting their specific areas of research.

Don't miss these technical workshops

Connect with your colleagues and explore topics in depth. Featured workshops this year: Image Proccesing, Live Demonstrations, Establishing Ground Truth in Radiology and Pathology, and 3D printing in imaging: phantoms and system components.

An invitation to participate

This meeting is the internationally recognized forum for reporting state-of-the-art research and development in medical imaging. The event focuses on the latest innovations found in underlying fundamental scientific principles, technology developments, scientific evaluation, and clinical application. The symposium covers the full range of medical imaging modalities focusing on image acquisition, display, processing, analysis, perception, decision support, and informatics.
