Profile Summary

My research focuses on novel interrogation methods for integrated photonic biosensors by using concepts from microwave photonics and optical data communication. One application is the detection and quantifying of myocardial infarction as a point-of-care measurement. Previously, I focused on analogue electronic hardware development for gas sensing.
My core strengths are photonic and electronic circuit design, programming in Python, numerical simulation, signal processing, system design, and automation.
Outside of work, I love the outdoors, where I do multiday hikes, rock climbing, and mountain biking. I’m the secretary of a university outdoors club with 600+ members, and I volunteer as an outdoor guide and rock-climbing instructor. I’m also the president of the RMIT photonics society, a post-graduate student group associated with the Optical Society (OSA).
