Dr. Wang's principle research is in the area of optical MEMS, fiberoptic sensors, and biomedical instrumentation and he is currently an adjunct research associate professor in the EE department. His recent research has been devoted to develop novel polymer micro sensors and actuators for noninvasive industrial and biomedical applications. More recently, his work has been expanded to 3-D metamaterial, eletromagentic and eletrocactive and magnetoactive polymer material study. He is currently a Senior Member and life time member of SPIE and IEEE. He is also a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Optomechatronics and the Sensors & Transducers Journal and serve in the program committees for International Society of Optomechantronics conference and SPIE Smart Structures and Materials and Nondestructive Evaluation and Health Monitoring since 2003.
