Profile Summary

Toshihiro Tsuzuki is an optical engineer at Advanced Technology Center, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan(NAOJ). He received his BS and MS degrees in physics from the Osaka University in 2007 and 2009. After that, he have more than three years experience about optical design(lens design) and evaluation in Olympus corporation. Now, he involves in several projects in NAOJ, such as TMT instruments(IRIS/WFOS), gravitational telescope(KAGRA), radio telescope(Nobeyama45m/Antractica Telescope), satellites/Balloon(Sunrise), observational rockets(CLASP1/CLASP2), etc. as an optical engineer. At 2018, He won the "optical design award" by the Optical Society of Japan (optical design group). His current research interests include optical design, optical evaluation, and optomechanical systems.

WORK SUMMARY:
Highly-trained, creative, and flexible with proven analytical skills. Sole optical design engineer at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) with nine years’ experience in optical design and evaluation of camera lens systems and astronomical instruments as diverse as TMT instruments (IRIS/WFOS) to balloon-borne telescopes (Sunrise). Successful in designing the latest optical designs for the IRIS imager (now FDP) and WFOS IFU (now CoDR).
