Profile Summary

Prashanth Abraham Vanniamparambil is a final year PhD candidate at Drexel University. His research activities focus on developing data fusion techniques for progressive damage monitoring in infrastructural components using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques. He received his Bachelor and Master of Science degree in an accelerated dual degree program in Mechanical Engineering in June 2010. He has since joined the Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Group (TAMG) to pursue his research. At TAMG, his work is primarily centered around designing and developing innovative structural health monitoring (SHM) strategies and identifying critical stages of damage development in various materials. His research approach extends from mechanical testing of laboratory specimens (metals, fiber reinforced polymer composites and metal fiber laminates) coupled with acoustic and optical NDT techniques to large-scale structural components for reliable damage detection.
