2000-2003, University of Bucharest, Romania: Coordinator of the Center for Distance Learning of the University of Bucharest in Barlad, Romania.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Designed and built Confocal Raman Tweezers Spectrometer, Diode Pumped Solid State CW Laser, Fast Optical Scanning System.
Experimental projects in crystals fluorescence, pulsed lasers and fast detection, two-photon absorption, dosimeters, X-ray diffraction, nuclear detectors.
Calculation for invisibility cloak with Mie’s theory, Fast Fourier transform for Terahertz spectroscopy, model for nuclear local equivalent potentials.
Designed, built, and calibrated a Rasch instrument for assessing conceptual knowledge of the physics of semiconductors.
Introduced an original method of teaching Physics for teenagers in a Romanian and in two US public schools.
NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS EXPERIENCE:
Coordinated a Romanian Students’ Physics Contest Team, achieving more than 30 national and international prizes.
Founded and directed a Preparatory School for international examinations, recruited and trained over 40 people for the faculty and staff.
Member of the Committee on Women in Physics with AAPT.
