DO-KYEONG KO received the Ph. D. degree in Physics from Seoul National University in 1992. From 1992 to 2003 he had worked in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) as a Senior/Principal Researcher. Since 2003 he has been with Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) as an Associate/Full Professor and served as the Chair of Department and the Dean of the GIST College. Outside of the GIST, he served as the Director of Natural Sciences at the National Research Foundation of Korea (2019-2021) and the President of the Optical Society of Korea (2022-2023). His research interests includes ultrafast nonlinear optics.
