SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics 2017

Conference returns to Prague, 24-27 April.

01 January 2017

LOGO for SPIE Optics and Optoelectronics Conferences and workshops on technologies related to some of the world’s most advanced laser facilities are expected to draw hundreds of scientists, engineers, and program managers to SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics in Prague in April.

The symposium will have 18 conferences, many highlighting the optical technologies related to the HiLASE facility and the planned Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) Beamlines in the Czech Republic; the recently commissioned European XFEL facility in Germany; the UK Central Laser Facility; and others in Europe.

By 2018, the ELI Beamlines facility will be open for user experiments. In line with the recommendations of the European Union and the European Strategic Forum for Research Infrastructures, the ELI Beamlines facility will have an open-access policy for researchers that will be irrespective of the researcher's country or institution of origin.

Conference topics in Prague include developments in optical sensors, petawatt photonics, high-power and high-repetition rate systems, diode pumped laser systems, and free electron lasers (FELs), along with recent advances in holography, x-ray optics, metamaterials, and nonlinear and quantum optics.

SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics will span four days, 24-27 April in the Clarion Congress Hotel. The event is also hosting a two-day exhibition, a workshop on technology and applications of intense, high-average power lasers, and a new conference on x-ray lasers and coherent x-ray sources chaired by Annie Klisnick, director CNRS at Paris-Sud University 11, and SPIE Fellow Carmen Menoni, a professor at Colorado State University (USA).

Symposium chairs are SPIE Fellow Jiří Homola of the Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic; Chris Edwards from the Central Laser Facility, Science & Technology Facilities Council (UK); SPIE member Mike Dunne of the SLAC National Accelerator Lab/Linac Coherent Light Source (USA); Bedřich Rus from the ELI Beamlines and Institute of Physics; and Ivo Rendina from CNR/Istituto per la Microelettronica e Microsistemi (Italy).

Papers from SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics will be published in the Proceedings of SPIE and available via the SPIE Digital Library.

The Proceedings are indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, Ei Compendex, Inspec, Google Scholar, Astrophysical Data System (ADS), DeepDyve, ReadCube, CrossRef, and other scholarly indexes, and are widely accessible to leading research organizations, conference attendees, and individual researchers.
