Fiber lasers, Industrial applications of fiber lasers, Spectroscopic trace-gas detection

Dahv Kliner is nLIGHT's Vice President of Fiber Laser Technology. He obtained a Ph.D. from Stanford University and performed postdoctoral research in ultrafast spectroscopy at the University of Minnesota and in atmospheric chemistry at Harvard University. From 1997 until 2008, Dahv was at Sandia National Laboratories, where initiated and led the fiber-laser program. This program involved more than 20 researchers from multiple institutions and developed key enabling technologies for power scaling of cw and pulsed fiber sources. He then spent 5 years at JDSU, where he led fiber laser development where he led development of kW industrial fiber lasers; these lasers are deployed worldwide in Amada sheet metal cutting systems. Dahv joined nLIGHT in 2012 to start the Industrial Fiber Laser business unit, whose products span 500 W to 8 kW and are used in a wide range of applications.
