Joseph Herzog received his PhD at the University of Notre Dame where he performed single-molecule spectroscopy on colloidal semiconductor nanostructures. Then he became a postdoc at Rice University where he researched plasmonic nanostructures, enhancements, and thermoplasmonics. Now his research group the University of Arkansas focuses on Plasmonics, Nano-Photonics, Nanofabrication, and Computational Electromagnetics.

Lecture Title(s)

Introduction to Plasmonics - This presentation will covers the basics of plasmons, and various plasmonic applications, and methods for characterizing and fabricating plasmonic devices. Will also contain updates on the latest research in the field of plasmonics.
Introduction to Nano-Photonics - This presentation will cover various nano-photonic measuring and spectroscopy techniques. Will also cover nano-optical devices including plasmonic structures and photonic crystals.
