SPIE Photonics Europe Digital Forum 2020

SPIE Photonics Europe Digital Forum | 6-10 April 2020

SPIE Photonics Europe Digital Forum is a newly launched version of SPIE Photonics Europe 2020, reimagined into a convenient, high-quality, and timely method to share emerging research and technology advances throughout the photonics community — from digital optics and quantum technologies to biophotonics, optical imaging, sensing, and metrology.

Watch presentations on your own schedule, all presentations will be continually available throughout the forum week.
Engage authors by posting questions for them to answer in a chat-like feature.
Gain continued access to research — sign up includes free access to the SPIE Photonics Europe Digital Forum Proceedings.
Keep dialog and information dissemination open for the scientific community, even though we cannot meet face-to-face for valuable discussions.

There is no cost for the SPIE Photonics Europe Digital Forum, so sign up now to view the presentations and gain access to the proceedings. The SPIE community looks forward to your participation.

Attention Authors

Although the 28 March deadline has passed, please continue uploading self-recorded presentations and manuscripts. We will do our best to make your material available for as much of the Digital Forum as possible.

Author uploads still accepted

What is the Digital Forum?

SPIE Digital Forums, like our in-person conferences, offer a rich exchange of research and advancements, made accessible via the SPIE Digital Library online platform. Together we can move scientific discussion forward during this time when we cannot meet face-to-face.

During the forum, participants from the global photonics community are encouraged to engage with the authors' works by watching presentations and posting questions and comments. Authors will respond to questions throughout the week.

More than 700 online presentations sharing cutting-edge research

Authors previously prepared to present their research in Strasbourg have been busy uploading pre-recorded presentations and manuscripts. There will be over 700 presentations and 500 manuscripts available during the forum covering these exciting topics.

  • Metamaterials
  • Nanophotonics
  • Micro-Structured and Specialty Optical Fibres
  • Biophotonics New
  • Optical Micro- and Nanometrology
  • Semiconductor Lasers and Laser Dynamics
  • Nonlinear Optics and its Applications
  • Photonics for Solar Energy
  • Optics, Photonics and Digital Technologies for Imaging Applications
  • Optical Sensing and Detection
  • Quantum Technologies
  • Advances in Ultrafast Condensed Phase Physics

Why are we holding a Digital Forum?

While we had to cancel the in-person gathering due to the global COVID-19 health crisis, we know how important it is for our community to report the advances many had hoped to present at SPIE Photonics Europe. We have created this new method to continue the information exchange and networking that our community values and relies on.

Scientists and engineers in optics and photonics are making great progress, so please plan to participate and continue to drive breakthroughs in this field.
