The most interesting part of my job is the diversity of people with whom I interact on a regular basis. In any given week, I might meet or speak with people representing government, industry, education, media, public interest, and, of course, academia. Understanding their various, and often differing, perspectives and needs and working to promote responsible policies in the exciting field of nanotechnology is both challenging and intellectually stimulating. It's certainly not what I imagined I would be doing as a graduate student.
