Excelitas Technologies Introduces Generation 2 905 nm High-Volume Pulsed Semiconductor Laser Diode for Range Finding and Industrial LiDAR
Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a global technology leader delivering innovative, customized photonic solutions, today introduced its enhanced Generation 2 905 nm High-Volume Pulsed Semiconductor Laser Diode. Featuring a multi-layer monolithic chip design, the second-generation 905 nm pulsed laser diode provides higher efficiency (3 W/A) for further ranging and reduced power consumption, as well as an improved GaAs structure to offer typically 85 W pulsed peak power when driven at 30 A for an increase of more than 20% compared to the first-generation product. An ideal solution for industrial and consumer range finding and LiDAR applications involving time of flight measurements, the enhanced pulsed laser diode design includes an optical emitting area of 225 μm x 10 μm by emission of three laser lines, offering high output power in a small emitting area. The laser chips are fabricated using metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) manufactured in a TS 16949 certified high-volume facility. Excelitas Technologies Introduces Highly Compact, nPAX-N2 2W Pulsed Xenon Light Module
Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a leading industrial technology manufacturer focused on delivering innovative, market-driven photonic solutions, today introduced its nPAX-N2 2W pulsed xenon light module. A companion product to Excelitas’ µPAX-2 series, the nPAX-N2 contains a flashlamp, trigger circuit and power supply in a small cylindrical format, ideal for point-of-care analytics and environmental analysis. The nPAX-N2 is very compact, with the smallest diameter of any enclosed, 2W pulsed xenon light source on the market. The fully enclosed light source can be safely and easily used in mobile field applications, such as water quality monitoring and point-of-care medical analytics. It is half the size of Excelitas’ 2 Watt μPAX-2pulsed xenon light source, with the same state-of-the-art circuitry and components providing microsecond-duration pulses of broadband light and exceptional arc stability. The nPAX-N2 module’s high stability performance (<1.0% CV) ensures consistent illumination from one use to the next, enabling highly accurate analytics. Its long lifetime delivers ≥ 1 x 109 flashes before output is reduced below 50% of initial capacity, minimizing replacement needs. Excelitas Technologies Introduces Miniature Digipyro PYD 5731 for Smart Home and Intrusion Alarm Applications
Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a leading industrial technology manufacturer focused on delivering innovative, market-driven photonic solutions, today introduced its Miniature DigiPyro®PYD 5731 pyroelectric detector, offering the smallest footprint of any pyroelectric detector currently on the market. The PYD 5731’s small size and superior performance make it ideal for applications where packing density, space constraints and product miniaturization require the smallest possible sensors, including integration with intrusion alarms and other smart home products using analog and/or digital detectors for indoor / outdoor uses. The new PYD 5731 sensor has an integral temperature reference, and a state-of-the-art, low operation voltage of 1,8..3,6 V. It provides excellent shielding and communicates in one 2x14-bit digital output through its single-wire “Direct Link” interface with the hosting microprocessor. While standard pyroelectric detectors are typically mounted in a TO-5 metal package, the new PYD 5731 comes in a TO-46 package with only 5,5 mm diameter.
