UNICER 1000: Cerium Oxide Powder for Variety of Soft & Hard Glass Substrates
The latest addition to our extensive line of premium cerium oxide polishing powders, UNICER 1000, consistently delivers highly efficient, cost-effective polishing for precision optics and ophthalmic in a wide range of applications where a high quality surface finish is required to meet the most critical and demanding applications. UNICER 1000’s specifically designed morphology assures increased surface planarity, less residual defects, and overall reduced roughness. Combined with its characteristic rapid removal rate and economical pricing, UNICER 1000 is quickly becoming a leader among competing cerium oxide polishes. Adding a critical surfacing additive like EVERFLO, leaves the competition even farther behind. EVERFLO’s distinctive action formula optimizes UNICER 1000’s unique properties; stock removal is accelerated, rogue scratching diminishes, an even finer surface emerges, and cleanability is enhanced. With or without additives, count on UNICER 1000 to deliver excellent surface finish and increased polishing productivity. Contact your regional representative or a UPI Applications Engineer for detailed information on how UNICER 1000 will perform for your application.

SC-955: Micro-Cellular, Foam Elastomer Polishing Material
Next generation of surface removal, SC-955 is a material of choice for polishing a variety of glass optics where higher removal rates, consistent flat-ness and an overall good surface finish are required. Key to SC-955’s extraordinary performance is its tightly con-trolled pore structure. Small and consistent throughout the material’s polyurethane architecture, the pores “meter” external polishing or finish slurries while supporting uniform points of contact between the pad and working surface. SC-955 yields a variety of desired characteristics including higher surface removal rates, consistent batch-to-batch flatness and finish, and better PSA adhesion. Custom configurations available based on your application needs. Contact your regional representative or a UPI Applications Engineer for detailed information on how SC-955 will perform for your application.

DAMA LG-500: Portable Chamfering Machine for Machining Glass or Ceramic Parts
The DAMA LG series is engineered to meet high demands of the optical industry on facet quality and dimensional accuracy of straight or prismatic bodies. Based on the prism carriage principle, the LG-500 incorporates a new design to easily adjust bevel irregularity. The prism carriage is designed to eliminate scratching with rollers over ball bearing guides – a major advantage for previously polished surfaces. Appropriate extensions and adaptations make this model particularly suitable for machining glass or ceramic parts, and being portable allows the machine to be placed wherever it is needed. Thanks to short set-up time and changeover within minutes, the LG-500 is equally suitable for individual pieces and series production. Additional features of the LG-500 include sturdy housing for quiet runs, adjustable feed rate, spindle speed and bevel height, and an integrated coolant system. Contact your regional representative or a UPI Applications Engineer for detailed information on how the DAMA LG-500 will perform for your application.

HASTILITE MOV 850: Clean CNC Polishing for Glass, Glass-Ceramics & Optical Crystals
Each of UPI’s HASTILITE polishing compounds, slurries and powders are uniquely engineered for optimal stock removal and surface finish. While all are excellent performers across a wide range of speeds, pressures and polishing media, each formulation has a highly individualized set of properties to meet very specific criteria. HASTILITE MOV 850 was developed for critical polishing applications whose requirements are not met by conventional polishing technology. HASTILITE MOV 850 uses finely processed rare earth and other oxides to produce narrow sub-micron particle size range, improved settling and superior cleanability. Contact your regional representative or a UPI Applications Engineer for detailed information on how HASTILITE MOV 850 will perform for your application.

HASTILITE HRD: Nano Diamond Polishing & Lapping for Sapphire & Other Hard Optics
The unique formulation of HASTILITE HRD synergistically combines mechanical and chemical properties to significantly enhance removal rates and deliver surfaces with impeccable finish, while reducing overall processing time an average of 50% to 80%. In fact, as HASTILITE HRD boosts lapping/polishing rates, it also reduces variability as it increases yield. HASTILITE HRD can replace multiple lapping steps on ultra-hard materials. Efficiently smoothing surfaces with significantly smaller flaw size, which ultimately results in shorter final polishing cycles. HASTILITE HRD manages robust lapping/polishing with low stress. Sub-surface damage is greatly minimized, which is a sure precursor for improved strength and finer surface quality.
