Profile Summary

Dr. Joon-Mo Yang is an assistant professor and director of the Center for Photoacoustic Medical Instruments in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNIST. He received his B.S (2002) and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in Physics at Seoul National University and conducted his postdoctoral training in the department of biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining the UNIST BME department, he was a research assistant professor in the Department of Physics at UNIST. His research involves the development of advanced photoacoustic imaging systems for various biomedical applications, such as endoscopy or minimally-invasive imaging, brain imaging, and cancer imaging study.
