Nanshu Lu: Bioelectronics-Wearables and Implantables

Nanshu Lu, University of Texas at Austin (USA)In this Hot Topics session, Nanshu Lu of University of Texas at Austin (USA) talks about bioelectronics in wearables and implantables, describing how graphene electronic tattoo sensors are helping to change healthcare. These tattoos are also expected to lower costs by being produced via subtractive manufacturing.

Lu's research focuses on the mechanics of flexible and stretchable electronics in all aspects including structural design, micro-fabrication, mechanical tests, bio-integration as well as analytical and numerical mechanics modeling.

Nanshu Lu joined the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at University of Texas at Austin as Assistant Professor in Fall of 2011. She holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and she is also on the graduate study committees (GSC) of the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) and the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) programs.

She is the recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER Award and Young Investigator Awards from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the Office of Naval Research.
