Naomi Halas is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Professor of Chemistry at Rice University. She is author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, has presented more than 200 invited talks, and holds nine patents. She is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physical Society, and the Optical Society of America. This video interview was recorded in August 2006 at the SPIE Optics & Photonics Symposium in San Diego, where she gave a plenary talk.
