"The 2014 San Diego Zoo Animal Ambassador, Tipu - The Anteater helped the staff from the Zoo's Centre for Bioinspriation demonstrate the application of "structural design from his strong yet flexible body, to his rotating ankles for easier scaling of surfaces, to his fur which acts like armor. This is part of an ongoing collaboration between SPIE and the San Diego Zoo to promote bioinspired engineering design. More information and videos about this project
