Assembly, integration, and verification phase of the SCORPIO instrument for Gemini South

Abstract

We present a status update on SCORPIO, the next facility instrument for the Gemini South telescope at Cerro Pachon, Chile. SCORPIO is now in advanced Assembly, Integration and Verification phase in Madrid, in anticipation of shipment to Chile by mid-2025.

Dr. Robberto is AURA Observatory Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore and Research Scientist at the Center for Astrophysical Studies of the Johns Hopkins University also in Baltimore. He spent most of his career on working the infrared instrumentation of the Hubble and Webb space telescopes. He is currently Principal Investigator of the SCORPIO instrument for the Gemini South telescope
