ANDES, the high resolution spectrograph for the ELT: the exposure time calculator
18 June 2024 • 17:30 - 19:00 Japan Standard Time | Room G5, North - 1F
Abstract
We present the Exposure Time Calculator (ETC) in development for ANDES, the high-resolution optical-infrared spectrograph for the Extremely Large Telescope. The ETC is a tool to predict the performances of the instrument for different parameters and environmental conditions. For these reasons, it is extremely useful in several stages of the project, from the design of the instrument to the preparation of the observations.

Nicoletta Sanna is a staff researcher at the INAF- Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri (Florence, Italy). Since 2016 she is the responsible of the Eposure Time Calculator for ANDES (previously HIRES), the high-resolution spectrograph of ELT. She was a member of the GIANO and GIARPS collaborations. Since 2017 she is part of the DPAC for the ESA Gaia mission, working on the calibration of standard stars. She is part of the MOONS science team. She is expert in resolved stellar populations, especially in spectro-photometry of star clusters.
