Explore Optics kits distributed by SPIE were recently presented to professor Pablo Nacenta of the Colegio Alameda de Osuna high school in Madrid, by SPIE Fellow Maria Calvo, Emeritus Professor in Optics at Complutense University of Madrid and Vice-President of the Spanish Royal Physics Society (RSEF).

Nacenta, who received the Royal Spanish Physics Society and BBVA Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching and Dissemination of Physics in 2015, will use the kits in working with undergraduate students.

The Explore Optics kits were developed as an aid for instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in general, and optics and photonics in particular. They are intended to inspire interest in optics in both children and adults, and are widely used by SPIE Student Chapters in their outreach programs. Each kit includes an instruction booklet, reflect view, PepperGram projector, invisibility kit, laser pointer, diffraction grating, gummy canides, protractor, and set of 4 Lazer Finger LED lights.
